摘要: The historical development of and scientific results from the mid-infrared instruments used on UK Infrared Telescope 1980 to 2005 are described. That near- (and submm photometers) were mounted telescope easily available for use was a particular strength UKIRT, which encouraged multi-wavelength long-term monitoring programmes. spectrometers UCLS CGS3 most sensitive in world 1980s 1990s they established spectral properties many classes astronomical objects. Papers describing measurements accounted over 10 % total output UKIRT this period.
