摘要: Abstract It has been shown that the cytoplasmic membrane and cell wall of Bacillus megaterium, strain M, are chemically quite different from each other. The contains large amounts diaminopimelic acid hexosamine. These substances absent membrane. phosphorus content is higher than membrane, while its nitrogen lower. can be characterized as a lipoprotein complex, perhaps containing smaller carbohydrate (glucose). Nucleic acids essentially absent. seems highly probable complete cytochrome system cells present in Heavy, granular structures associated with some purified membranes do not contain any acid, hexosamine, nucleic probably no cytochromes. Analytical data suggest these granules non-proteinaceous, nitrogenous compounds. Their lipid about same or lower membranes.
