Towards a comprehensive policy for health workers

摘要: Health workers are crucial to the performance of a health system. Their situation is critical and this has been recognized as global problem. The main challenges their number, distribution, skills conditions. Addressing these issues must necessarily involve multifactorial, intersectoral international approach, where determinant factors are: educational policies, forms recruitment, permanency termination contract, that arise throughout working cycle. In Chile, management does not follow comprehensive outlook. type, number distribution technicians professionals do respond nationwide planning strategy, there no coordination between authorities universities. result system responding needs population, nor fulfilling promise public service career encourages good performance, investing in its human resources.
