摘要: Haematology parameters (N = 24) and serum biochemistry 35) were determined for wild Eurasian beavers (Castor fiber), between 6 months – 12 years old. Of the population tested in this study, N 18 from Norway 17 originating Bavaria but now living extensively a reserve England. All blood samples collected via ventral tail vein. chemically restrained using inhalant isoflurane 100% oxygen prior to sampling. Results haematological biochemical species compared two different populations with differences means estimated significant being noted. Standard beaver their ranges characterised percentiles. Whilst majority of showed no variation, haemoglobin, packed cell volume, mean haemoglobin white counts significantly greater values (p<0.01) Bavarian origin than Norwegian; neutrophil counts, alpha 2 globulins, cholesterol, sodium: potassium ratios phosphorus levels (p<0.05) versus potassium, bile acids, gamma urea, creatinine total calcium Norwegian relict populations. No noted male female or sexually immature (<3 old) mature (≥3 animals sampled. With reintroduction encouraged by legislation throughout Europe, knowledge baseline any variations therein is essential when assessing health welfare success failure program. This first study produce base-line beaver.
