摘要: Heavy water (D2O) affects various functions of cells and living things. In order to gain fundamental insight into the molecular mechanism on biological effects heavy water, D2O-effects fully hydrated monoolein (MO) systems were investigated from structural viewpoints. At room temperature, MO by pure light (H2O) forms a bicontinuous cubic (Pn3m) phase, then, Pn3m phase transforms an inverted hexagonal (HII) at about 90°C. Temperature-scan X-ray diffraction measurements showed that substitution D2O for H2O lowers Pn3m-to-HII transition temperature reduces lattice constants both phases. The analysis using intensity data indicated surface occupied area interface 12% in comparison with H2O. This change is probably due difference strength hydrogen bond.
