摘要: Hypersensitive response and pathogenicity (hrp) genes control the ability of major groups plant pathogenic bacteria to elicit hypersensitive (HR) in resistant plants cause disease susceptible plants. A number Hrp proteins share significant similarities with components type III secretion apparatus flagellar assembly animal bacteria. Here we report that Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato strain DC3000 (race 0) produces a filamentous surface appendage (Hrp pilus) 6–8 nm diameter solid minimal medium induces hrp genes. Formation pilus is dependent on at least two genes, hrpS hrpH (recently renamed hrcC), which are involved gene regulation protein secretion, respectively. Our finding pilus, together recent reports Salmonella typhimurium appendages bacterial invasion into cell Agrobacterium tumefaciens virB-dependent transfer T-DNA cells, suggests formation common feature infection eukaryotic cells. Furthermore, have identified HrpA as structural pilus. Finally, show nonpolar hrpA mutant P. unable form or either an HR
