摘要: The aim of the study was to identify histopathological characteristics associated with invasion optic nerve uveal melanoma and evaluate association between survival. In order achieve this, all melanomas in Denmark 1942 2001 were reviewed (n=157). Histopathological depth recorded. material compared a control from same period consisting 85 cases randomly drawn choroidal/ciliary body without invasion. Prelaminar/laminar multivariate analysis focal retinal invasion, neovascularization chamber angle, scleral Postlaminar further non-spindle cell type rupture inner limiting membrane retina. invaded four different ways: 1) by tumor extension neuroretina through lamina cribrosa; 2) direct into head Bruch's border tissue Elschnig; 3) 4) one case spread along cribrosa. Invasion had no impact on all-cause mortality or melanoma-related analyses. majority invading are large juxtapapillary tumors because simple proximity nerve. A neurotropic subtype invades retina diffuse fashion unrelated size location.
