Changes in the pharyngeal airway in relation to extension of the head

摘要: In a sample of 20 adults the associations between cervical lordosis, craniocervical inclination, position hyoid bone and cross-sectional dimensions pharyngeal airway were studied. Lateral skull radiographs obtained in natural head posture also at degrees extension with subjects teeth intercuspal position. Cervical lordosis was measured from second to sixth vertebra calculated horizontal vertical directions. The free dorsal tongue surface posterior wall level fourth vertebra. A change resulted an increase changed increased airway. The changes produced by changing showed significant correlations size inclination airway.
