摘要: Study objectives To determine the effect of an asthma intervention program targeted to a predominantly Latino population inner-city, adult patients with recent emergency department (ED) visit for care. Design A prospective study measuring changes in quality life (QOL), knowledge, and ED hospital utilization group enrolled outpatient program. Setting Academic medical center located New York City (NYC) local community-based organization. Participants One hundred ninety-eight > 18 years age residing Washington Heights/Inwood, community NYC. Measurements Changes were assessed by mini-Juniper QOL score before after intervention. Results From July 2000 through December 2002, 198 agreed be into The improved 0.67 points. There was 40% reduction visits 36% hospitalizations over 1 year, compared 10% no hospitalization rate control who declined Conclusion culturally individuals living area NYC is effective reducing asthma, improving overall asthma-related QOL.
