摘要: Transcranial doppler sonography was performed transorbitally in five patients clinically diagnosed as unilateral carotid-cavernous fistula. Dural arteriovenous malformation related-shunts were detected all the patients. In normal eyes, only signals observed at an insonation depth of 45 to 55 mm those ophthalmic artery. affected abnormal with relatively higher flow velocity and lower resistance observed. three cases, these showed a directed anteriorly or away from cavernous sinus, consistent changes veins caused by presence shunts. two however, flows posteriorly, direction veins. The possible explanations for this discrepancy are discussed relation angiographic findings. use transcranial might provide better understanding about hemodynamic carotid fistulas.
