Luminescence and scintillation characterization of PbMoO4 crystal for neutrinoless double beta decay search

摘要: Abstract A PbMoO4 single crystal with optically good quality and crack free, bulk is grown by the low thermal gradient Czochralski method. The luminescence scintillation properties of are measured under excitations 4.4 eV UV, 662 keV γ, 5.5 MeV α, β in temperature range 10–300 K. light yield UV found to enhance down 10 K, however quenched below 50 K γ α excitations. major decay time constants be 20 μs, 18 28 respectively, 4.4 eV, at 10 K. thermally stimulated (TSL) glow curve after X-ray irradiation shows three overlapping peaks 10–70 K. TSL kinetic parameters such as trap depth (E) frequency factor (s) determined using general order kinetics be, 41.5 K (peak-1), 35 meV, 3.95 × 102 s−1, 51.1 K (peak-2), 121 meV, 4.31 × 1010 56.8 K (peak-3), 123 meV, 3.32 × 109 s−1. quenching lower due self-trapping electrons (MoO4)2- molecular complex.
