摘要: The present study employs a real-time, practice-oriented, and place-based approach to dissect the process of nanotechnology innovation in support novel governance schemes. research question is: What are actors specifically doing metropolitan area, what enabling constraining drivers that could be leveraged for approaches? presents results from 45 interviews synthesis workshop with academia, industry, government, civil society Phoenix. Results show follow preconceived mental models primary objective deploy profitable commercial or military products. dominant network academics, government funding agencies. is divided along product-based sectors few cross-sector linkages. Considerable governmental entrepreneurs academic via National Nanotechnology Initiative enables early stages. Market failures corporate barriers, however, constrain value proposition later phases. There novelty products; yet, little attention paid consumer input, adverse effects, broader public generation.
