摘要: Stearoyl-CoA desaturase-1 (Scd1) gene belongs to a multigene family. The product of Scd1 is an iron-containing membrane-bound enzyme important in the catalytic conversion saturated fatty acids into monounsaturated acids. key role skin biology and, particular, controlling biogenesis sebaceous gland has been demonstrated by identification defect asebia mouse, mutant mouse with rudimentary glands. model underscores close relationship between glands and hair follicle biology. This chapter also compares expression another related member family, Scd3, how cycle impacts these genes skin. While expresses multiple tissues, restricted Scd3 highlights its tight control expression.
