摘要: In this study, we present a one-dimensional (1D) model of the metering zone modular, co-rotating twin-screw extruder for pharmaceutical hot melt extrusion (HME). The accounts filling ratio, pressure, temperature in screw channels and gaps, driving power, torque residence time distribution (RTD). It requires two empirical parameters each element to be determined experimentally or numerically using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). required Nusselt correlation heat transfer barrel was from experimental data. We results with constant viscosity comparison literature data obtained CFD simulations. Moreover, show how incorporate rheology typical, non-Newtonian polymer melt, measurements. For both cases, achieved excellent agreement. Furthermore, RTD, based on literature, found good agreement simulations, which entire HME process approximated model, assuming melt.
