摘要: Guanosine, the endogenous guanine nucleoside, prevents cellular death induced by ischemic events and is a promising neuroprotective agent. During an event, nitric oxide has been reported to either cause or prevent cell death. Our aim was evaluate effects of guanosine against oxidative damage in hippocampal slices subjected vitro ischemia model, oxygen/glucose deprivation (OGD) protocol. We also assessed participation synthase (NOS) enzymes activity on neuroprotection promoted guanosine. Here, we showed that prevented increase ROS, oxide, peroxynitrite production OGD. Moreover, loss mitochondrial membrane potential Guanosine did not present antioxidant effect per se. The protective were mimicked inhibition neuronal NOS, but inducible NOS. may involve activation mechanisms production, possibly via
