摘要: Discontinuous fiber preforms, fiber-reinforced metal matrix composites, and methods of making same are disclosed. A preform includes a milled material having weighted average length about 0.03 mm to 0.12 and/or percent volume fraction the 15% 55%. The is at least substantially free binder material. MMC weighted-average further infiltrated into can be uniformly oriented randomly in MMC.
