摘要: This study focuses on one discursive construction of social reality, the self-identity. To survive in a new culture, immigrants must come to know “facts” and ethos society. That knowledge, however, is not passively absorbed by people, but at least part constructed them from information verbally transmitted through conversations. Four discourses among were analyzed point out important aspects participants' understanding their New World, as well own place it. Optimistic outlook for future, determination, language competency, racial ethnic problems prominent. Tenets constructionist perspective Hermeneutic–Dialectic method are also outlined.
