摘要: Abstract : Coastal systems are increasingly vulnerable to flooding due the combined influence of coastal storms, development and population growth, geomorphic change, sea level rise. This reality has given rise efforts make greater use ecosystem-based approaches reduce risks from which draw capacity wetlands, beaches dunes, biogenic reefs, other natural features impacts storm surge waves. report offers details regarding nature-based (NNBF) improve resilience was designed support post-Hurricane Sandy recovery under North Atlantic Coast Comprehensive Study (NACCS). An integrative framework is offered herein that focuses on classifying NNBF, characterizing vulnerability, developing performance metrics, incorporating regional sediment management, monitoring adaptively managing a perspective, addressing key policy challenges. As progress made these actions across many organizations contributing implementation full array measures available will enhance region's systems.
