Effective control strategy for photovoltaic cascaded H-bridge inverters developed on FPGA platform

摘要: In this work a new control strategy for grid-tied photovoltaic cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters is presented. The topology analyzed in the paper made by series connected power cells, each supplied an individual PV source, thus providing distributed conversion scheme. algorithm ensures stable operation even unbalance condition among cells thanks to sorting which properly selects switching state of H-bridge. implemented on FPGA order obtain dedicated digital circuits parallel operation, mandatory when cells' number increases. effectiveness proposed approach evidenced means experimental tests performed single phase 7-level laboratory prototype inverter. results show good performances terms maximum point tracking efficiency, factor, and total harmonic distortion.
