摘要: Estuaries are increasingly under threat from a variety of human impacts. Recreational and commercial boat traffic in urban areas may represent significant disturbance to fish populations have particu- larly adverse effects spatially restricted systems such as estuaries. We examined the passing boats on abundance different sized within main navigation channel an estuary using high resolution sonar (DIDSON). Both smallest (100-300 mm) largest (>501 size classes had no change their following passage boats. However, decrease mid-sized (301-500 occurred This displacement be attributed number factors including noise, bubbles rapidly approaching object itself. In highly urbanised estuarine systems, regular by has potential major negative population level assemblages.
