摘要: Household survey data, time allocation and qualitative interviews were used to examine whether households allocate their resources for health care differently between age gender groups. Households allocated significantly fewer the of sick children compared that adults. In contrast there no such differences with regard gender. The underlying household rationale is concentrate its spent on productive members rather than spread them equitably among all members. While are not productive, women shown contribute as much production men, hence valued equally men. Unless we understand intra-household biases in resource allocation, policies will be undermined. Further research needed test hypothesis households' preference maintenance over maximization.
