Pump-set clusters in China: Explaining the organization of the industry that revolutionized Asian agriculture

摘要: This paper studies the pump-set industry in rural China, which has led to widespread diffusion of inexpensive and readily repairable pumping technology countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan Viet Nam. To do so, we first describe rise China’s industry, includes hundreds small family-owned enterprises that are doing business a manufacturing cluster located single town southern China.
