A self-experimentation report about long-term use of fully-immersive technology

摘要: Virtual and digital worlds have become an essential part of our daily life, many activities that we used to perform in the real world such as communication, e-commerce, or games, been transferred virtual nowadays. This transition has addressed times by science fic- tion literature cinematographic works, which often show dystopic visions humans live their lives a reality (VR)-based setup, while they are immersed into vir- tual remote location means avatars surrogates. In order gain better understanding how living environment (VE) would impact human beings, conducted self-experiment exposed single participant immersive VR setup for 24 hours (divided repeated sessions two exposure followed ten minutes breaks), is knowledge longest documented use VEs so far. We measured different metrics analyze perception, behav- ior, cognition, motor system change over time fully isolated world.
