摘要: Objective: To critically review the body of clinical trials that refute or support efficacy antihistamines in relieving pruritus patients with atopic dermatitis. Design: Review MEDLINE from 1966 through March 1999, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, and Best Evidence to identify therapeutic Main Outcome Measures: All randomized controlled used treatment We found 16 studies throughout literature. Results: Large, randomized, double-blind, placebocontrolled definitive conclusions (grade A trials) have not been performed. Two grade B (small, rigorous, uncertain results due moderate high a b error) refuted use pruritus. One trial supported remaining C) lacked placebo controls randomization, contained fewer than 20 each group. Conclusions: Although are often dermatitis, little objective evidence exists demonstrate relief The majority flawed terms sample size study design. Based on literature alone, remains be adequately investigated. Anecdotally, sedating sometimes useful by virtue their soporific effect bedtime may warranted. There is no effectiveness expensive nonsedating agents.
