摘要: The rate of release γ-aminobutyric acid from the perforated pial surface cerebral cortex in cat showed systematic variations with state activation or "arousal" electrocorticogram. In animals subjected to midbrain coagulation and showing constant spindle patterns characteristic sleep, was three times greater (about 2 micrograms per hour square centimeter) than a largely "aroused" electrocorticogram, which had sections upper cervical cord were neuraxially intact but been given local anesthesia. glutamic lower "sleeping" animals, while no such differences found for glutamine aspartic acid. Such studies may lead better understanding chemical mechanisms involved control states consciousness by brain stem.
