Biomarkers in Critical Care Illness: ARDS and Sepsis

摘要: One of the key challenges in critical care medicine is syndromic nature two most common clinical presentations – sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Understanding biological pathogenic processes underlying these conditions incomplete, there has been limited success developing biomarkers that conform to NIH definition a biomarker as ‘a characteristic objectively measured evaluated an indicator normal processes, or pharmacologic responses therapeutic intervention’.
