摘要: A general reluctance to submit open heart surgery elderly patients with acquired cardiac defects has wanned increasing experience. Thirty-five of 150 operated upon in 1971 were fact over 60 years age (23%). The first 100 so have been selected for detailed study, and the results are presented. Results excellent isolated aortic valve disease coronary artery disease. They satisfactory those mitral disease, but generally disappointing following multiple procedures. It is considered that alone should not be a contraindication proper selection surgery. Summary The consecutive procedures aged discussed.
