摘要: This paper reports the characterization of antidiabetic role a hydroethanolic extract from Parkinsonia aerial parts (HEPA), in normal and alloxan-induced diabetic rats, treated with HEPA (125 250 mg/kg; p.o.). Oral glucose tolerance test, acute oral toxicity test preliminary phytochemical analyses were performed. The rats showed significant reduction serum urinary glucose, urea triglyceride levels, as compared to untreated group. However, groups, was found only levels. In all an improvement hepatic glycogen observed, well decrease liquid intake volume, enhancement weight skeletal muscles (soleus extensor digitorum longus), kidneys epididymal adipose tissue. Nevertheless, body liver weights ameliorated group (250 mg/kg). Moreover, higher animals HEPA, while results also that could be considered toxicologically safe. Phytochemical analysis revealed presence tanins, flavonoids steroids HEPA. conclusion, P. aculeata presents activity other beneficial effects ameliorate diabetes associated complications.
