摘要: It has been reported that amyloid β peptide, the major component of senile plaques, serves a critical role in development and progression Alzheimer's disease (AD) by generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative stress. The aim present study was investigate protective effect Oroxylum indicum (L.) extract against Aβ25‑35‑induced stress cell injury using SH‑SY5Y cells as model, at exploring underlying mechanisms. results revealed exposure 20 µM Aβ25‑35 significantly increased cellular stress, evidenced ROS levels. treatment also caspase‑3/7 activity lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release, caused viability loss. Oroxylum indicum not only attenuated generation suppressed but reduced neurotoxicity concentration‑dependent manner, decreased LDH release. Treatment with superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) activity, phosphorylation Akt cAMP‑responsive element binding protein (CREB), contributed upregulation Bcl‑2 protein. In combination, these indicated could protect injury, least partly, inhibiting increasing SOD CAT attenuating caspase 3/7 promoting survival pathway, Akt/CREB/Bcl‑2. approach used may be useful for preventing induced Aβ AD related neurodegenerative diseases. Further studies investigating in vivo are now required.
