摘要: Abstract The pyridine nucleotides from both the epithelium and endothelium of rabbit cornea were measured by cycling assay. Sodium azide (10 m ) applied for 1 hr to induce histotoxic anoxia decreased endothelial NAD + NADH ratio 4·62 1·49 epithelial 2·56 1·08. larger as compared corresponds a more oxidized state. corresponding ratios NADP NADPH 1·2 0·70 epithelium. had no effect on endothelium, but 0·62. Pyridine nucleotide fluorescence was with difference corneal fluorometer perfused whole preparation everted preparation. 30 min resulted in 19·4 ± 0·7% increase 4·5 0·6% Corneal induced stopping perfusion side 18·7 35% decrease transendothelial potential 76% rate fluid transport. A comparison is made between invasive chemical analysis real time, non-invasive fluorometry measure anoxia.
