Schneiderian papillomas: a clinicopathologic study of 67 cases.

摘要: The clinical and pathologic features of scheniderian papillomas were studied in 67 patients. There 40 male 27 female patients, the mean age at diagnosis was 49±17.9 (SD) years. Nasal obstruction or perception a nasal mass most common presenting symptom; duration symptoms 10.8±15.8 months. Almost equal numbers had predominantly endophytic (inverted) ( n =32) exophytic (fungiform) =30) patterns, five mixed patterns. Multiple morphologic variables evaluated initial specimens, including cytologic atypia number mitotic figures; there no statistically significant correlations between these biologic behavir. Of 39 patients for whom follow-up information available (mean period, 38.6 months), six (all with patterns) copresented schneiderian carcinomas. remaining 33 initially only benign scheiderian papillomas. In recurrences developed 11 (33 per cent), local invasion two (6 cent) (both inverted papillomas), epidermoid carcinoma one (3 (with an papilloma). Three evidence disease when last examined, died after copresentation carcinomas). continued use term papilloma (endophytic pattern) as specific subset is recommended, all serious complications, progression to invasion, carcinoma, development associated lesions.
