摘要: Postpartum affective disorders continue to be a major health issue for women. There is general belief that electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) effective in treating severe or treatment-refractory postpartum illnesses, but evidence support this assertion lacking. In case series, we present 5 cases of women with depression and psychosis, all whom had failed prior pharmacological therapy. All significant response within 3 6 treatments ECT. Our findings suggest ECT overall an treatment illnesses. addition being excellent choice who have medication trials, may also considered whose severity illness necessitates rapid symptom resolution.
