摘要: Abstract Objective To investigate whether individuals affected by familial combined hyperlipidemia, a common lipid disorder increasing the cardiovascular risk, had different carotid ultrasound parameters compared to control subjects without this family disorders. Methods 127 cases and controls matched for age gender were enrolled. Serum glucose, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, triglycerides, ApoB, insulinemia measured standard laboratory techniques. All underwent B-mode ultrasonography measure end-diastolic end-systolic diameter of artery and, successively, calculate distensibility, compliance, Young's elastic modulus distension. Results Carotid significantly greater among FCH than controls, distension score lower control, also after analysis covariance in order adjust all indexes confounding variables. A multiple regression confirmed that hyperlipidemia status was correlated indexes. In model including parameters, triglycerides only variable with distensibility but not Conclusion This particularly hypertrigliceridemia, could be direct responsibility modification leading impairment distension/distensibility that, turn, makes patients prone atherosclerosis.
