摘要: A long-term study of marked individuals in a numerically stable Sparrowhawk breeding population enabled the reproductive and survival rates females different ages to be calculated. These estimates were then used calculate value, mean number young produced by during rest their lives. The data provided evidence, not only for improvement success early years life, but also senescence, i.e., deterioration later life. Average annual increased from 0.49 1st-yr 0.66 4 yr olds, declined 0.28 9 olds (maximum life-span 10 yr). production 0.3 (including nonbreeders) 3.3 5 1.8 olds. Mean value 3.1 8.1 2.1
