摘要: Taste is one of the fundamental senses, and it essential for our ability to ingest nutritious substances detect avoid potentially toxic ones. buds, which are clusters neuroepithelial receptor cells, housed in highly organized structures called taste papillae oral cavity. Whereas overall structure periphery conserved almost all vertebrates examined date, anatomical, histological, cell biological, as well molecular details buds cavity diverse across species even among individuals. In mammals, several types gustatory reside on tongue ordered arrangements, patterning distribution mature depend coordinated events embryogenesis. this review, we highlight new findings field development, including how patterned fate regulated. We discuss whether a specialized bud stem population exists extrinsic signals can define lineages generated. also address question regulation renewal analogous that development. Finally, conclude with suggestions future directions, potential influence maternal diet health sense utero.
