摘要: Spontaneous latex exudation is the main symptom of papaya sticky (meleira) disease caused by Papaya meleira virus (PMeV), a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) virus. This paper describes different effects PMeV on latex. Latex samples were subjected to histochemical tests evaluate their chemical composition. Additionally, integrity particles was assessed transmission and scanning electron microscopy analysis. Biochemical micro- macro-element measurements performed. dsRNA extraction performed interaction with particles. Sticky diseased positive for alkaloid biosynthesis showed an accumulation calcium oxalate crystals. also increased H2O2 synthesis within laticifers. The protein, sugar water levels altered, probably due changes. morphology further altered; seemed be bound in laticifers indicate defense response against PMeV. However, such efforts failed, as affected plant described here suggest some advantages infection process, including facilitating movement plant.
