摘要: Objective Knowledge about determinants of participation in lifestyle interventions cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, particularly with palliative intent, remains poor. The objective the present study was to identify participating a 12 month individualized, comprehensive intervention, focusing on diet, physical activity, mental stress and smoking cessation, receiving chemotherapy curative or intent. secondary 4 months into study. Methods Newly diagnosed starting at center Kristiansand/Norway (during 16 inclusion period) were screened. Demographic medical data (age, sex, body mass index, education level, marital status, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG), diagnosis, tumor stage treatment intention) analyzed for screened patients. Results 100 161 invited participated. There more females (69 vs. 48%; P = 0.004), breast (46 25%; 0.007), non-smokers (87 74%; 0.041), younger (mean age 60 67 yrs; 70 years less likely participate baseline months. Conclusion Individualized appear facilitate high rate that declines increasing age; both during enrollment process completing intervention. Neither oncologic nor socioeconomic variables deterred participation.
