摘要: The cys2-1 mutation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was originally thought to confer cysteine dependence through a serine O-acetyltransferase deficiency. In this study, we show that strains lack not only but also cystathionine beta-synthase. However, prototrophic strain found be deficient because allelic cys2-1. Moreover, revertants obtained from had beta-synthase, whereas transformants by treating with an S. genomic library beta-synthase O-acetyltransferase. From these observations, conclude (serine deficiency) accompanies very closely linked causes deficiency and mutations together dependence. This newly identified is named cys4-1. These results support our previous hypothesis has two functional biosynthetic pathways reveal interesting gene arrangement the system.
