摘要: Merkel cells, mechanoreceptor cells in epithelial tissues, have generally been regarded as functioning to detect tissue deformations with their microvilli and release certain transmitters targets. Cutaneous the sinus hair follicle are known possess many secretory granules close accompanying axon endings, while mucosal palate reported extend paracrine processes basal lamina. A comparative observation of these two cell types rats by a combination scanning transmission electron microscopy showed that cutaneous displayed triangular body sharpened apex flattened base layer external root sheath. Distribution was confined apical aspects cells. The were tightly held corresponding pits overlying ones deeply penetrated basement membrane. On other hand, palatal epithelium exhibited round body, extended membranous Microvilli randomly dispersed along entire surface. Some terminated free ends, others stuck adjacent different manners support possible receptor sites indicate properties response mechanical stimuli.
