摘要: The goal of this study was to use a pressure sensor measure the force distribution and contact area hand when gripping, pushing, pulling cylinder. Data collected from 10 subjects with no impairments 1 subject rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Subjects grasped an aluminum cylinder wrapped Tekscan performed each trial at 25%, 50%, 100% maximum voluntary exertion. A relationship found between increasing exertion area. maps showed thenar region exerts most during pushing while metacarpal joint line highest pulling. third fourth phalange were exert gripping. RA higher thumb forces distal forces, relative entire phalange, compared non-impaired subjects. This suggests that compensates for lack function regions still function. Future studies should sample individuals larger range more RA.
