摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing memory bandwidth requirements in an MPEG-like decoder by compressing image information prior to storage such that a reduced resolution frame is stored subsequently utilized by, e.g., motion compensation module of the decoder. The invention responsively processes vector manner consistent with amount compression imparted predicted frame, type prediction employed forming frame.
