Interplanetary Discontinuities and Shocks in the Earth’s Magnetosheath

摘要: The study of the propagation interplanetary disturbances, shocks and discontinuities, through magnetosheath is critical to improve our understanding Sun-Earth connected system. In this paper, current status both theoretical observational studies in crucial area reviewed separately for discontinuities. It suggested that tangential rotational discontinuities suffer significant geometrical distortions traveling between Earth’s bow shock magnetopause. On other hand, pressure fronts transmitted most likely remain unaltered promising possibility improved space weather forecasting accuracies.
