摘要: Objective: The purpose of the pilot study was to assess feasibility and efficacy a 4-month community health worker (CHW) intervention improve hypertension management among Filipino immigrants in New York Jersey. Design: Single-arm CHW using pre-post design delivered by 5 CHWs. Setting: City, NY Jersey NJ. Participants: Of 88 individuals recruited for study, 39 received full intervention, 18 partial 31 dropped out; 13 participants, 10 Trainers, 3 CHWs were interviewed qualitative analysis. Intervention: Individuals participated 4 workshops related cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors monthly in-person visits, twice phone calls individually from CHW. Main Outcome Measures: Primary outcomes included blood pressure (BP) reduction control, appointment keeping, medication adherence; secondary weight, body mass index (BMI), self-efficacy diet, exercise, taking, CVD knowledge, nutrition (salt/ sodium cholesterol/fat). Results: A mixed method analysis used utilizing quantitative methods. By end significant changes exhibited systolic diastolic BP, BMI (P<.01). Significant not seen adherence however, knowledge diet weight all improved significantly Qualitative findings provided additional information on acceptability, feasibility, intervention.
