Breaking Seed Dormancy of Laurel (Laurus nobilis L.)

摘要: Laurel (Laurus nobilis L.) seeds were collected from the west part of Turkey in fall 2002. Seeds with pericarp (+) or without (−) treated 1000 mg/l, 2000 mg/l and 3000 GA3 concentrations, cold stratified at +4 ± 1°C for 25 50 days, punctured seed coat removed to overcome assess mechanism laurel dormancy. A period days stratification removing significantly increased germination rate 55% 1.91 (Mean SE) 85% 3.00, respectively. None germinated regardless treatment they underwent. Results suggested that dormancy was mainly due perhaps inhibitors linked coat.
