摘要: As Latin American countries seek to expand the coverage and benefits provided by their health systems under a global drive for universal (UHC), decisions taken today – whether government or individuals will have an impact tomorrow on public spending requirements. To understand implications of these define needed policy reforms, this paper calculates long-term projections in three countries, analyzing different scenarios related population, risk factors, labor market participation, technological growth. In addition, simulates effects options potential knock-on expenditure. Without reforms aimed at expanding policies programs prevent disease enhancing efficiency systems, we find that likely grow considerably not-distant future. These projected increases may not be critical situation if revenues productivity other areas economy maintain historical trends.
