Two sexually dimorphic cell groups in the human brain

摘要: A quantitative analysis of the volume 4 cell groups in preoptic- anterior hypothalamic area (PO-AHA) and supraoptic nucleus (SON) human brain was performed 22 age-matched male female individuals. We suggest term Interstitial Nuclei Anterior Hypothalamus (INAH 1–4) to identify these previously undescribed PO-AHA. While 2 INAH SON were not sexually dimorphic, gender-related differences found other groups. One (INAH-3) 2.8 times larger than irrespective age. The group (INAH-2) twice as large brain, but also appeared be related women circulating steroid hormone levels. Since PO- AHA influences gonadotropin secretion, maternal behavior, sexual behavior several mammalian species, results that functional sex hypothalamus may neural structure.
