摘要: Rootstocks have comprehensive effects on lycopene accumulation in grafted watermelon fruits. However, little is known about metabolic regulation watermelon. To address this problem, parallel changes contents and the expression of its genes were analyzed during fruit ripening nongrafted onto bottle gourd, pumpkin, wild Results showed that rootstocks mediated transcriptional regulations different ways. Bottle gourd promoted fruits by upregulating biosynthetic phytoene synthase (PSY) ζ-carotene desaturase (ZDS), downregulating catabolic β-carotene hydroxylase (CHYB), zeaxanthin epoxidase (ZEP), 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED), carotenoid cleavage (CCD). pumpkin did not affect both genes. The rootstock-dependent characteristic provided an alternative model for investigating regulation.
