摘要: The small mammal community of a coastal site south- western Mauritania was monitored using live trapping, owl pellet analysis and nocturnal visual censuses. Ten species rodents two shrews were recorded. Gerbil- lid (Gerbillus nanus, G. gerbillus, tarabuli, nigeriae Taterillus arenarius) the most preva- lent in traps, whereas relatively large proportion pellets made up murid rodent, Mastomys huberti. presence murids (M. huberti Arvicanthis niloticus) this presaharian environ- ment is possible by patches green vegetation associated with localized fresh water inputs. contradiction results from sampling methods indicate potential biases determination composition relative abun- dance. Results are also discussed estimating poten- tial role predation competition community.
