摘要: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of vision loss in working-age adults. It affects a third diabetics. macular edema, an advanced complication DR, develops nearly 7% diabetic patients. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are novel group non-coding small RNAs that post-transcriptionally control gene expression by promoting either degradation or translational repression target messenger RNA. They implicated large variety physiological and pathophysiological processes, including glucose homeostasis, angiogenesis modulation inflammatory response. MiRNAs also play critical role pathogenesis diabetes related micro- macrovascular complications. The purpose this review to describe potential miRNAs evaluate their implication DR. involved metabolism (insulin secretion sensitivity) playing DR with genes reviewed. Understanding could be helpful for developing new gain- loss- -function strategies order establish effective treatments reduce rate visual disability due progression retinopathy.
