摘要: Background: Rhinosinusitis is the swelling of one or several sinuses. It common, in medical practice, to encounter anatomic variants by using CT scans patients with sinus diseases. Few studies have quantitatively defined influence each variant, and its relationship disease. With advent multislice computed tomography a better definition nasal cavities, worldwide concern on their assessment has grown. Methodology: The objective this study was determine prevalence sinuses concordance clinical radiological rhinosinusitis findings, for which, an epidemiological, cross-sectional, analytical performed at Specialties Hospital Armed Forces, “Dr. Enrique Garces” Hospital, Quito, during period between May August 2014. This included symptoms over age 18; exclusion criteria under 18, history trauma surgical intervention, tumors cavities. Informed consent previously granted. research team designed data-collection form, once results were in, data obtained processed database analyzed EPI INFO 7.0 software. Results: From 423 study, distribution even both genders. ranged 18 93 years old, average 44. Nasal obstruction most frequent symptom, 82.7% incidence. Eighty percent presented diagnosis. Seventy-six 224 findings consistent had deviated septum, followed bulla ethmoidalis, xvi Agger Nasi bone spurs. relative risk patient suffer 1.7 times higher those septum (RR CI95%: 1.73 (1.1 – 2.65); p=0.003). Conclusions: A variant found. suffering septum. No significant statistical association could be established nor showing findings.
